My training with Marco Büchel

World Cup ski racer Marco Büchel has been training according to my training methods since the summer of 2002.

In preparation for each new and challenging World Cup season, we put together a training programme tailored specially for Marco Büchel’s needs.

Given that the foundations for good physical condition are laid in summer, we start working on fitness around mid-June and carry on until the beginning of the season.

Weight training is scheduled in five times a week, and depending on the stage of preparation we focus on muscle building or on developing maximal, speed or explosive strength. During the preparation phase, Marco Büchel easily lifts weights amounting to a million kilograms.

He does his endurance training two to three times a week in the midst of our scenic mountain landscape, focussing on short interval work.

During the ski season Marco Büchel practises explosive strength training on a weekly basis to maintain strength and speed.

His World Cup results speak for themselves:
30 top 10 rankings and 12 podium places, including 4 at No. 1.
